Microsoft is testing the waters of social media by opening the doors to Socl

Microsoft have opened the doors to Socl, a social network accessible only to its employees and students at the moment, although it's only a test version why wouldn't Microsoft compete with the likes of Facebook, they have the userbase I just feel they need to offer something unique.
